I like your style and it looks like this wants to be a good game, please make it work! I've only been screwing around for about 10 minutes but as far as I can tell all the triggers are broken. The conversation with dad worked and the map reloaded without him but I haven't been able to get the game to change state any further. It's always possible I'm too dumb to find the first thing, but...it looks to me like you're supposed to play hide and seek with the kid to get the hatchet to get the woodsman to cut down the tree. I've found those characters, and their dialog works (though the pauses in the woodsman's dialog are so long I thought it softlocked for a moment) but after talking to the kid and being challenged to hide and seek it reloads with the kid still standing there waiting to ask you to play hide and seek. So, much as I like what I see, that's all I've seen so far.
